Halloween Parade

Davis's school did a big Halloween parade. Davis was so excited to dress up for school. He was even telling me that he made sure not to run around on the grass at recess, so he didn't get grass stains on his Indiana Jones' pants.

This is Davis with his fantastic teacher Mrs. Flake. For anyone who has a kid going into 3rd grade I highly recommend her!

The whole class!

Pumpkin Carving

The day before Halloween, we had my family over for homemade pizza and pumpkin carving.
I ran to Macey's right before everyone was coming over and every single one of their pumpkins were gone. I really wish I was a better planner. Luckily I had taken Davis to the pumpkin patch on Geneva Road and I had let him pick out one pumpkin for him. I figured we didn't all need pumpkins. Mark ends up helping him out anyway and then I get out of carving all together!

This is my niece and nephew, Maddie and Dallin. Davis had taken off his nice shirt, and carved in his undershirt so he wouldn't get it dirty. Maddie and Dallin decided they didn't want their clothes dirty either!

This is my other Niece Elli. She was just standing around looking cute. She is pretty good at it!

My brother-in-law Earl was helping his daughter Nadya with her pumpkin. Isn't her smile adorable!

Mark was making sure his fat baby was fed before he helped his eldest with his pumpkin! What a good Dad.

All the kids showing off their pumpkins.

Our Stay-Cation

For UEA we decided that with Gas prices and the baby it might be easier to stay home and find fun things to do here. So we had a Stay-cation. (I just learned that word from the Young Woman's president in our ward, pretty clever huh!) We went to Cornbelly's with my sister Hilary and her son Dallin and had a great time enjoying the last of the warm weather.

There was a ton a different things for the kids to do and Jack loved being toted around in his snuggly. I loved that Dad was doing the toting!

We also went on the Heber Creeper with our friends the Dansies. They have a train that you can go on and they tells ghost stories with scary sights on the way and creepy passengers.

The guys had the babies in this picture, but that didn't last long. Grumpy babies need their mommies.

Lana, me and the boys all dressed up!

The boys wanted to sit by themselves for a while to show off how tough they were!

Davis looks quite dashing. I think he could play the next Indiana Jones!

Time Tests

In Davis's class they do timed math tests to help them memorize the basics, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Davis was having a hard time with this. He is easily distracted and he tends to psych himself out. Anyway I will confess I was a little worried because he was getting behind so I went and bought flash cards and a little bribe, a new Indiana Lego set! Say what you will about my Mom skills, the bribe worked and Davis passed the subtraction test two days later. Not only that, but without a bribe he passed the two's multiplication the next week!

Grandma Petersen's Halloween Party

These are pictures from Grandma Petersen's annual Halloween Party. As always she did a fantastic job and the kids had a lot of fun. They painted pumpkins, did a craft and Grandma read them spooky Halloween stories.

We were also were able to celebrate something very special at the party for Davis. On Oct. 9 we went to court and the judge agreed to let us change Davis's name. He is now officially a PETERSEN!!!! (The cupcakes have his new name on them) We are very excited and I think it will make everything a little easier. Doesn't Indiana, I mean Davis, look happy!!!!!

Chuck E Cheese

It was a very cold weekend and the kids needed to do something, so Jeff, Amy their kids and our family all decided to go to Chuck e Cheese! Amy and I searched on line for coupons and we were able to get a pizza, drinks and a whole bunch of tokens for $30.00. We split it and had a whole bunch of fun for $15.00. Worth it for a couple hours of fun.

For some reason we were never able to get a family picture with all of us together, so I posted them all! It was pretty noisy for Jack, note his face in the carrier.

Amy and I with our coordinating sweaters! Happy to have the kids running around and yelling somewhere besides our houses!

Erin wondering where she can use her tokens next!

Katelyn on a joy ride!

Davis and Ethan stopping their game of ski ball to pose for a picture!

Davis feeding his crazy amount of tickets into the machine!

Ethan and Davis deciding what great little toys they can get for their hard earned tickets. This is my least favorite part of Chuck E Cheese, it drives me crazy. Davis stands there for what seems like hours deciding on what cheap toys he can take home. The goal is to get as many things as possible instead of maybe getting one or two cool things that are worth more tickets. I think being the helper at the ticket counter would be my worst job ever. Waiting for kid after kid to decide what trinkets they want and then changing their mind.

Anyway we did have a blast despite the ticket counter!
